I'm glad to announce the first 'stable' release of the Zinc Compiler. It
is under heavy development, so many features may fail, but it should
correctly compile simple programs.
The Zinc Compiler is an effort to write an experimental compiler for an
extended version of the Curry logic functional programming languague. Type
classes are the most notably extension at the moment. The Zinc project is
being developed at the University of Oviedo (Spain) by Diego Berrueta as a
final course work. The basis for the Zinc Compiler is the Münster Curry
Compiler (MCC) by Wolfgang Lux.
The current version of the Zinc Compiler is 0.6.0. Sources and
precompiled binaries for some architectures can be downloaded from the
project page on SourceForge [1]. Building instructions and more detailed
information are found in the project wiki [2].

As in any first public release, a lot of bugs in the code and the
documentation can be expected. Any feedback would be greatly
appreciated.
